THE FIRST LADY
Beverly Sterling-Cross was born in Manchester, Jamaica and received her early education in Manchester. Beverly migrated to the United States when she was seventeen. She met and married Milton Sterling who predeceased her in 2012. The union produced two sons, Milton who is a MD and Wesley who is a professional chef.
Beverly received her professional training at Oakwood College, now Oakwood University and the Atlantic Coast Theological Seminary. She has a Master’s of Science in Christian Counseling and is presently writing her dissertation on “The Relevance of Christian Counseling Today.” Beverly served as an Early Childhood Educator for over twenty-seven years. She is a certified Early Childhood Educational Professional and holds a National Child Development Associate Credential from the State of Florida.
Beverly’s teaching experience reached Korea, where she taught Conversational English for two years. She held different positions throughout her teaching career such as: Head Teacher and director of academics. However, Beverly also had another passion apart from teaching. She wanted to serve in the Gospel Ministry and touch people’s lives at a different level. She subsequently left teaching to serve in the Southeastern Conference office as receptionist.
In 2017 she married Dr. Dolphy Cross who is a family-life educator and they immediately launched their ministry to couples. Beverly wants to dedicate the rest of her life fulfilling a lifelong dream of ministering to couples and families. Her encouragement to you is to have faith in God and hope in the future you cannot see.
